Robert Burns Letterpress Poetry Book

A 3 part poetry compilation celebrating the life and work of National Poet of Scotland, Robert Burns. The book was printed through the traditional way of composing type - both metal and wood. I used an Old Vandercook printing press to create the work and sets of Antique Gothic, American Unical,Cheltenham and Wood Type. The work includes three unique illustrations, gathered from my own experiences in Scotland, I printed these images by making polymer plates of each image. This project to me represents my love of practicing traditional printing methods alongside contemporary design methods. Through the use of traditional typesetting, platemaking and Adobe Suite, I was able to create a piece of work that highlights, and introduces the beauty and significance of the Scot's Dialect for a new audience.
